Michael Amaladoss is a Jesuit from Tamil Nadu, South India. After studies in languages, education, music, philosophy and theology, he did his PhD in the Catholic Institute of Paris on Sacramental Theology. He is the Director of the Institute of Dialogue with Cultures and Religions, Chennai. He has been a professor of theology at Vidyajyoti College of Theology in Delhi; a visiting professor in various theological institutes in Manila, Thailand, Paris, Bruxelles, Louvain, Berkeley, Washington DC and Cincinatti. His special theological interests are Indian theology and spirituality, the dialogues between Gospel and culture and the religions. He is the author of over 30 books, some of them translated in many languages, and about 440 articles. He has also composed music for about 150 devotional songs in Tamil and for Bharathantyam (Indian classical dance). His recent books include The Asian Jesus; The Dancing Cosmos - A Way to Harmony; Making Harmony - Living in a Pluralist World; Beyond Inculturation - Can the Many be One; Beyond Dialogue - Pilgrims to the Absolute, and Interreligious Encounters – Opportunities and Challenges.
