All of us have a Cross to carry. It could be a physical illness, an anxiety that has been burdening our mind, a social situation unresolved, a spiritual struggle within, with which we have been battling. Jesus too had a Cross to carry. In fact, He carried our Cross. As we follow Him in spirit and in prayer on this Way of the Cross, may we draw strength and inspiration from Him to carry our own Cross. For a moment in the silence of our hearts we think of a particular personal cross that we have to carry. We carry it with Jesus as we walk with Him in spirit to Calvary.

About Author

Monsignor Alex Rebello is a priest of the Archdiocese of Bombay, India. Ordained in 1968, he has served as pastor, principal of High School and Junior College and Professor at St Pius College, the major seminary at Mumbai, where he was also Director of Spirituality. He holds a baccalaureate in Education, a Masters in History and Theology and a Doctorate in Spirituality from the Pontifical University of St Thomas Aquinas, Rome. He was deputed to the Pontifical Council for Culture at the Vatican where he served for a decade. He has travelled extensively abroad guiding retreats and conducting seminars on prayer and spirituality. He is presently on loan from the Archdiocese of Bombay as a missionary to the Diocese of Wrexham in Wales, United Kingdom.
