Gospel Tales for Today make the Gospels come alive. This made me take copies of one of his Tales, after it was published in the New Leader, and distribute them to Jesuits, whose retreat I guided. Every Tale in this book takes you into the depths of the mystery of God. Every Tale is a work of art, a beautiful tapestry woven from many, many hues of the Gospel and history, probabilities and possibilities, imagination and creativity, meditations and contemplations, but most of all from the heart. I am sure that these Tales come with the rich influence of the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius. A work of art, this book should be approached as such with tenderness and openness. Not to be read once and put away, it should be read, like the Gospels, again and again. Those who read it with their heart will experience goose bumps. These Tales are narrated in an ordinary, simple language, yet they are profound, because of the extraordinary things they do to your heart.
